During year 2005 six APPNA SEHAT units were graduated out of APPNA SEHAT financial support and were replaced with the same number of units. Over and above that during the year 2006 twelve more units have been added. Population coverage is now reached 91,000 in 13,922 households spread out in 149 villages of Mardan, Murree, Sahiwal and Badin. After graduating out 45 units at different locations

Community Organizations and Development Initiatives

In each APPNA SEHAT Unit, there are male and female cluster organizations (CO) at every 40-60 household. These cluster organizations in turn form Unit Committees at unit level by nominating two CO members as members of Unit Committee. APPNA SEHAT conducts capacity building trainings of these community structures. Both these community structures in addition to participating with APPNA SEHAT in their health promotional activities, most of these organizations have developed themselves into forums where they not only talks about their problems but also takes local development initiatives. Now they interact with Government line departments and other agencies for development projects on partnership i.e. departments and agencies provide them matching grants. These primarily include establishing primary school, funds for poor patients, plantation campaign, donations to schools, construction of mosques, construction of culverts and small bridges on them, paving the pathways, installation of community hand-pumps, construction work at local schools, establishing and running computer centers, sewing schools and vocational centers, observance of cleanliness-days, resumption of water and sewerage systems abandoned long ago on purely self-help basis without any assistance from out side. With assistance from outside includes registration as Community Citizen Boards, improving existing and building new roads, , constructing and maintaining the village drains and sewerage systems, village water schemes, construction of bridges, formation of veterinary dispensaries, interactions with local government departments for electricity, telephones and gas. All these community ventures could be possible after APPNA SEHAT organized the communities and they started translating their potentials into actions to solve their local problems and improve their life style. APPNA SEHAT always strictly played the role of a facilitator in all these community endeavors.
